Audiovox 6600 from Bell

Bell Mobility has released Audiovox 6600, which supports 1xRTT and EVDO. It'd be good when BM supports EVDO this year. The device is sister to Imate PPC2K I had, it has a flash for the camera, uses CDMA instead of GSM and has no Wi-Fi. I guess this is due to fact that EVDO will support up to 2.5 Mbit speeds and current 1XRTT on the machine showed 138Kbit sustained data rate (compared to GPRS being 40-50Kbit on Rogers or Fido (since there is no EDGE Pocket PC Phone Editions out there yet).

The speed is good, but the device is heavy and can't beat the battery life of my Imate Jam. Especially when the 1550 mAh battery comes this week (it normally has 1200MAh I believe).

I'll keep you posted,

Sems
